New Football league dazzles in debut + huge hit on QB

Opening weekend of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) was a HIT! Literally. On Saturday the debut broadcast on CBS reportedly pulled in a bigger audience than the Rockets v Thunder game it was up against on ABC. Nobody really knew what to expect from the league, but the good news is they didn't embarrass themselves. Quite the opposite. One play in particular has everyone talking. This hit would've clearly been a foul in the "other league," given the protection of the quarter-back, but not in the AAF. Fans were quick to point out the differences in the leagues by the way opposing teams are allowed to pursue the QB.

Here is a great article I found about the fundamental differences between the AAF and the NFL. In short, it's no kickoffs, overtime rules and defensive formations. Click here to read more.
