Bodycam Video Shows Emotional Gabby Petito After Reported Fight With Fiancé

The Moab City Police Department released body camera footage of an encounter with Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito and her fiancé Brian Laundrie recorded on August 12. Officers pulled over their white van after receiving a report about a possible domestic incident.

Petito broke down in tears while speaking to the officer and said she was struggling with her mental health.

"I'm sorry," Petito said after the officer asked her why she was crying. "We've just been fighting this morning. Some personal issues."

After speaking to both Petito and Laundrie, the officer concluded that there was no evidence of domestic violence, writing that the incident was "more accurately categorized as a mental/emotional health 'break' than a domestic assault" in his report. The officer noted that Laundrie spent the night in a hotel while Petito stayed with the van.

Petito was last known to be in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming in late August, and her parents reported her missing on September 11 after they hadn't heard from her for over a week.

Laundrie has not provided any information about Petito's disappearance. Authorities in Florida said he is a person in interest in the case and are trying to speak with him about what happened.

"He needs to talk to us," Josh Taylor, a spokesperson for the North Port, Florida, police department, said. "We need to know exactly where he was, where she was, their last locations and that the fact that he was back here for 10 days."
