My Chemical Romance Might Be Performing At Coachella 2020

2015 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience - Day 1

My Chemical Romance could be hitting the Coachella stage next year.

The emo rock stars are reportedly in talks to join the 2020 lineup for the Indio, California, music festival, alongside rumored headliners Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean, and Travis Scott, industry sources told Consequence of Sound on Monday (December 30). In addition, “Norman F—king Rockwell” songbird Lana Del Rey and Australian electronic musician Flume are also speculated to perform the annual celebration next April.

If these reports are true, it will mean My Chemical Romance will have stamped down not only their debut Coachella performance, but also their first confirmed live appearance in the new year. As fans know, the group members — Mikey and Gerard WayFrank Iero and Ray Toro announced their comeback in October. The band celebrated their first show in seven years with their December 20 concert at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

Rage Against the Machine, who previously confirmed their long-awaited reunion for a series of concert dates — including Coachella performances for April 10 and April 17 — last month, will return to the desert for the first time in 12 years. Frank and Scott, who performed the highly-anticipated gig in 2012 and 2017 respectively, will mark their first time as the fest’s headliners on the bill.

Coachella 2020 will return on April 10-12 and April 17-19 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Lineups for the event are usually unveiled in January — so more details coming soon!
