Phoenix, Mumford & Sons, the Killers and Vampire Weekend are reportedly going to headline this summer's edition of Lollapalooza, according to the Chicago Tribune. Although festival organizers have not made any official lineup announcements yet, industry sources confirmed those four acts along with theNational and the Postal Service, the reunited duo featuring Death Cab For Cutiefrontman Ben Gibbard.
Other artists rumored to be appearing at this year's event are Nine Inch Nails,Tegan And Sara, the Lumineers, Imagine Dragons, the Cure, Hot Chip, New Order, Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar, Big Boi and many others.
- This year's Lollapalooza is scheduled to take place on August 2nd, 3rd and 4th, once again at Grant Park in downtown Chicago.
- "Early bird" tickets go on sale next Tuesday (March 26th), with the complete lineup to be officially unveiled next month.
- Lollapalooza relaunched in 2005 as a destination event after many years as a traveling festival.
- It has become increasingly successful, consistently selling out 270,000 tickets over three days in recent years. More than 100 acts are expected to perform on eight stages throughout the course of the weekend.
