You've heard of sleep walking, but some people are actually sleep texting now. Villanova University nursing professor, Elizabeth Dowdell, says she has had parents come to her and say that their teen will respond to the sound of their buzzing cell phone at all times, even in their sleep. The cell phone is left on their nightstand and the teen answers it with a text that they don't remember sending the next morning. Dowdell says the text is usually all gibberish, or at best nonsensical. Dowdell says fractured sleep is less restorative than unfractured sleep, and suggests placing a docking station in the kitchen or family room and having family members put their phones there at 10PM to avoid having them in bedrooms.
