Listen to Stone Temple Pilots on iHeartRadio

Scott Weiland is demanding a hefty severance package after being terminated by his one-time Stone Temple Pilots bandmates.  According to "Rolling Stone," the axed frontman has filed a countersuit against the group asking for at least $5 million in compensatory damages.

The other members of STP originally sued Weiland last month accusing him of misusing the band's name to promote his solo work.  But now Weiland - who also claims the band conspired against him - is demanding that the new Stone Temple Pilots lineup perform under a different name.

The group made their live debut with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington on vocals a few weeks ago, and also released a new single title "Out of Time."
